Parent and community volunteers provide valuable assistance to the office, library, and classroom. Volunteers enrich the school experience for our children. Children who have family members involved in their education are more successful at school. Please let us know your skills and when you are available and we will find a place for you! All volunteers who work in our school need to fill in an EPSB volunteer form.
Dovercourt School offers a rich program of instruction that follows the mandated Alberta curriculum (Alberta Education Program of Studies.). Our teachers adeptly meet the learning needs of our students by differentiating the instruction of the curriculum so that all students achieve success in their learning. Three Dovercourt teachers have received teaching excellence awards. Dovercourt students have access to a variety of technical devices to help them engage more deeply with their learning.
We offer regular programming from Kindergarten to Grade 6.
The music program at Dovercourt provides all students from grade 1 to Grade 6 with high level music instruction. The children compose music, play a variety of instruments including traditional Chinese instruments and have many opportunities to perform.
French as a second language is offered in Grades 4 to 6.
